THE VISIONARY

It all started last Monday. At midnight, i walked alone when, one old dirty and shaking man, took my hand while he talked:

- I´m blind, but, i can see more than you.

- Excuse me, I was on my way to my apartment, and I don´t fell lik..

- Shut up. I can prove my words... for example, you are wearing a shirt and, it has a small stain of juice on the left sleeve.

- It´s incredible. I´m wearring my coat. How did you do to...?

- Shut up. Come with me. This place isn´t safe.


We walked three blocks, I didn´t know what to think about this man. He talked very confidently, and I was exciting about knowing the secret of this stranger.
Finally, we stooding front of a litle door tied with chain and a padlock. He took a key from his pocket, then we entered into the damp stair. The smell in that place was revolting and I had to make force not to become unconscius.
In the room, I had to sit because the sickness was terrible.

- I have something... something important... I can help the humanity, but I´m scared... This is the invention of the century... this is the most incredible thing that you saw in all your life (while he talked. He walked from side to side). Listen to me... you must help me to finish my work.

- Sorry but i can´t understand. I haven´t got any idea about your words.

- Understand... understand. This the big problem of the world. Everyone wants to understand and lose much time... time, that they need to enjoy all that they don´t need to understand. I feel in you a simple man, I give you a short explanation of my work, and after this... after this... you help me to finish it.
I was a scientist, but, I made a big mistake, I wanted to keep the secret of my work, but they... they found out. - Well, as you know, the human can see because his eyes attract the light trough the cones and the canes. After that, the optic nerve transmiting the information to the brain. It interprets the stimulus and conforms the image. Well, this system isn´t perfect, because it need light. Without it, the human is defenseless. Until today because I can change this. The brain is a bigger than you need, because the evolution failed. Yes, you hear ok, the evolution failed.
The first men lived in caves, because, out to it they were easy food for the beasts. In the caves they developed the best system to see. These men didn´t see only the light, they could feel all around them, and their brains grew while the men dominated the darkness... the night was their. After that, the greed invaded them, so they wanted the day too.
The beasts were scared and didn´t stop them. Slowly they enjoyed the light, because it carried heat, and the men have hot blood.
Using the light for seeing, was less tiring and the evolution, gave men two simple eyes for the light. After this, a big part of the brain stayed out of use, and it was atrophied.
It´s in this moment when I come in, in the history. I can return the perfect vision to men in the darkness.

- But you talked to me about your condition of blindness. I don´t understand.

- understand... understand, allthe world must understand.
I developed a protein for reactiviting all the brain, but I could reactivate only half. I could make it only see the organic matter. I tested in me this protein, because I couldn´t return to the laboratory. Everything worked ok, but I didn´t calculate the pressure and my eyes exploded. Now i can finish the protein but I need that somebody read to me my diary.
I can see your cotton shirt, and your expression, but, I can´t see the pencil writing.
The liquid in this syringe it´s all that is left. I destroyed all in the laboratory, all except this.

- ok I beleve you and I help you. Give me the diary and let´s start now.

- well, take my diary and read the page number fifteen. Read the paragraph of... Damn, they found me I can feel them in the street... they want my diary.


After this the lights were turned off and i heard many shots. One of this broked the head of the scientist, and I jumped on to the floor near the body. I heard steps towards me, in that moment, I was an easy victim for them. I destroyed many pages of the diary.
After that, I thought something... I could only think in one thing to survive...
